Services

Appraisel

Most policies have an “Appraisal Clause”. You can usually find it in your policy under the “Conditions” or “What to do after a loss” segment. If you have trouble finding it, call our specialists to assist you.

If you and we fail to agree on the amount of loss, either one can demand that the amount of the loss be set by appraisal. If either makes a written demand for appraisal, each shall select a competent, appraiser. Each shall notify the other of the appraiser’s identity within 20 days of receipt of the written demand. The two appraisers shall then select a competent, impartial umpire. If the two appraisers are unable to agree upon an umpire within 15 days, you or we can ask a judge of a court of record in the state where the residence premises is located to select an umpire. The appraisal, mediation and commercial Adjuster shall then set the amount of the loss. If the appraisers fail to agree within a reasonable time, they shall submit their differences to the umpire.

Written agreement signed by any two of these three shall set the amount of the loss.

Hurricane Sally did significant damage in the Pensacola area. Our home sustained such damage with flooding, fencing being destroyed and roof damage. Our insurance company was totally unreasonable, refusing to talk or acknowledge our problem. Thank God for John Fuentes. On March 20, 2021 while I was across town in South Cape Coral around 5ish, I got a harrowing call from my husband telling me the house we were renting in Northeast Cape Coral had caught fire and I needed to come home immediately.

My heart stopped for a millisecond before it began racing. With lightening speed aka running red lights, swerving around cars...I pull up to my street moments later to find the entire street lined with fire engines. My heart sunk thinking I was too late. Thinking my husband who has cancer and my senior dog that is blind/deaf were gone. I hesitated for a second trying to brace myself before walking through neighbors lawns making my way to my house, tears rolling.

To my relief, both my husband and dog were safe and sound....but my poor house was NOT ok. As you can see in the video, it sustained a lot of damage. I didn't know how badly all my personal belongings were but I could see we would be homeless.
